Following a pretty significant spill while mountain biking in Colorado, Dierks Bentley is quickly on the mend and even playing the guitar to accompany daughter Evie. In fact, in a new video the country star daredevil shares on Instagram, we aren’t sure whether to be more excited about how good he feels or about how amazing Evie sings.
Sitting on a front porch in Colorado, guitar in his lap, and his daughter perched on the rail, he strums along as she covers the Maren Morris hit, “My Church.” And dang, the eleven-year- old beauty has got some pipes! Rich and gutsy with an effortless vibrato, Dierks harmonizes with Evie on the chorus with a smile on his face. When they finish, he gives an update on his injury.
“Totally fine. Broke a few bones, but it’s just bones. They heal pretty easily. I can do everything I want to do. I’m actually more than fine, I’m great. I can’t wait to get back out there with y’all,” he says.
In the caption, he also writes, “ #colorado #evieoninstagram Broke a few bones in my hand but totally fine. Fired up for WI, MI and NY this weekend.”
Among the many comments on the social post is one from Maren herself who writes, “Awwww. She’s beautiful. Feel better, Dierks.” Luke Bryan’s wife, Caroline, also sent hearts, as did rising star and Burning Man Tour opener, Tenille Townes, who wrote, “Ahhhhh, she sounds so good!”
This is hardly the first time Evie has impressed us with her vocals. She dazzled a full house in Durant, Oklahoma last year singing “My Religion” with her proud pops.
Heck, seven years ago, when Evie was just three, she took the stage with her dad at the Ryman Auditorium to sing “Thinking of You.”
