Dierks Bentley Releases Moving Video For “Hold The Light”

Dierks Bentley has released a powerful new video for his song “Hold Up The Light,” which he wrote for the upcoming movie “Only The Brave.”

The film centers around an elite crew of firemen—The Granite Mountain Hotshots— from Prescott, Arizona who battled a wildfire in Yarnell, Arizona in 2013, that claimed the lives of 19 of their members. The film stars Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Taylor Kitsch and Jennifer Connelly.

“Hold The Light,” features Bentley’s distinct vocals, with the help of Bon Iver’s S. Carey.

In the video, Bentley, Carey and the band perform the song on a darkened stage as scenes from the movie are interspersed throughout.

“This is at the top, if not the most meaningful experience I’ve ever been a part of,” said Bentley. “It hits me harder than any other song I’ve had a chance to be a part of. Over the last couple years I’ve met and gotten to know Brendan, the sole survivor, and my mom has met with some of the guys’ families, and it’s still unfathomable to put yourself in any of their shoes. But, our goal was to create a message of hope and love. I’m honored to have been a part of it.”
