Dierks Bentley Dan+shay on the phone for Seven Peaks Music Festival

A little over two weeks ago, Dierks Bentley announced his inaugural Seven Peaks Music Festival, taking place Sept. 31-Sept. 2 in Colorado.

Already announced as part of the festival are fellow artists, Miranda Lambert, Brothers Osborne, Elle King, LANCO, Del McCoury, Sam Bush and The Cadillac Three. Now, the singer is calling up more friends to invite them out to the Rocky Mountain Festival.

Dierks picked up the phone to ring friends Dan+Shay, personally inviting them to be a part of the inaugural festival.

“I don’t know if you know this but I’m putting together a festival in Colorado,” Dierks began the call. “If you guys don’t have any plans, I’d love to have you come out and play. It’s Labor Day weekend.”

“Dude, that sounds good to me,” Shay said. The duo then got in the mood by practicing a verse of “Rocky Mountain Way”— “Spent the last year Rocky Mountain Way / couldn’t get much higher.

The Colorado festival is the perfect place for the hit-making duo to sing their current song “Tequila,” with lines like “Sky high in Colorado, your lips pressed against the bottle.”

It’s as simple as that.
