8 Dixie Chicks Videos That Are Still Really Good

-

The Dixie Chicks have been out of the popular country music spotlight for well over a decade, but that doesn’t mean their music and their videos don’t still resonate.

Though, today, they are mostly known for political statements, but their music and corresponding videos often showed depth and humor far beyond their political candor.

8 Dixie Chicks Videos That Are Still Really Good:

1. “Not Ready To Make Nice” // 2006

Even without country music radio, “Not Ready to Make Nice” was the band’s biggest hit in the U.S. The video was an artistic look at the boycott of the band and even today, we’re confident they aren’t ready to make nice.

2. “Landslide” // 2002

If you’re going to cover Stevie Nicks, you better go big. And that’s what the Dixie Chicks did.

3. “Wide Open Spaces” // 1998

“Wide Open Spaces” won CMA Music Video of the Year in 1999. Most of the video was shot in and around Winter Park, Colorado with the Chicks on stage and in their tour bus.

4. “Ready to Run” // 1999

Though the song was featured in the movie, “Runaway Bride,” the video takes on the Chicks in a triple-wedding setting and totally wins.

5. “Top of the World” // 2003

“Top of the World” was released as a single in mid-2003, but the fallout was in full-effect and the tune didn’t chart. The video was filmed in London and shows life at its most regretful and real.

6. “Cowboy Take Me Away” // 1999

The computer graphics were a lot to stomach, but the song is just too good to be ignored.

7. “You Were Mine” // 1998

Maybe one of the Chicks’ saddest videos. It was shot at New York City’s Gramercy Park Hotel and surrounding areas.

8. “Goodbye Earl” // 2000

This video has all the tropes– rednecks, domestic abuse, best friends, small towns, classic cars, and more. Not to mention– stars! The video starred Dennis Franz, Jane Krakowski and Lauren Holly. It won Video of the Year at the CMA and ACM Awards in 2000.
