Dolly Parton is releasing tracks and videos from her new project “Dumplin” and the black and white video for “Jolene” is her latest offering.
Dolly went back into the studio to re-record the popular hit, adding strings to the score. In the new version Dolly slows the tempo down and the strings act as a character in the movie, accelerating and falling back just at the right points.
In the video, Dolly can be seen in the studio with the string band as she performs her new version. The constant motion of the camera makes the viewer feel as if they are in the room and part of the action.
Dolly took to Instagram to share the new video. “We’re puttin’ out videos and new tracks like hotcakes! Here’s the new video for “Jolene” from the #Dumplinsoundtrack. Let me know what you think in a comment below!,” she wrote in her post.
In addition, Netflix has given the go ahead for Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings, an eight-episode series which will kickoff with its first episode in 2019, titled “Jolene.”
“Dumplin’” will air on Netflix on Dec. 7th. and the soundtrack is available Nov. 30th. Check out the new string version here.
