“Dwight Yoakam and Emily Joyce were married in March just prior to the quarantine in a private ceremony at St Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, CA. At a time when there is so much uncertainty in the world, there are still happy moments,” the statement read. “In the face of shutdowns and social-distancing requirements, love prevailed, and the less than 10 attendees were seated at least six feet from one another.”

According to the statement, the couple have been engaged “for several years and have been dating since 2010.” It added that the reason they had not announced the wedding was “out of respect to so many people affected by and on the front lines of this pandemic.”

The singer’s team posted some photos on his Instagram page with the statement in the caption. And as you can imagine, the congratulatory messages came rolling in.

“GORGEOUS!!! So happy for you!! 💕💕💕💕,” wrote Lee Ann Womack

“Congratulations! Blessings to you both on such wonderful news.,” shared a fan.

“I’m so happy to hear the good news I did a happy dance. I couldn’t be more excited for y’all. Congrats🎉,” added another.

He later starred in Panic Room with Jodie Foster and co-wrote, starred in, produced and wrote the soundtrack for South of Heaven, West of Hell, with Vince Vaughn and Bridget Fonda.

Congratulations to the happy couple.
