Recently, Faith Hill’s mother, Edna, passed away at the age of 80. Faith shared the news with her fans in a Facebook post that read, “While this is a difficult time for our family, we rejoice in knowing that she is in Heaven and no longer suffering.”

Faith has often talked about her mother and how wonderful she was, even revealing in a 2006 interview with Larry King, that her mother always supported her singing and encouraged her to sing in church.

After announcing a new album of Deep Tracks, Faith shared that one of her mother’s last wishes was to hear Faith record a gospel album. She didn’t quite get a full album, but Faith is releasing “Come to Jesus” in memory of her mother.

“Three weeks ago today my mom passed away. Mom often asked if I l would ever get around to recording a gospel album. That’s all she wanted to hear me sing. I’m thankful that she was able to hear this song before she took a seat on the glory train. This is ‘Come To Jesus’ dedicated to my mom,” Faith wrote.
