[Watch] Florida Georgia Line Brings Feel-Good “Simple” to “James Corden”

-

Florida Georgia Line brought their infectious new single, “Simple,” to “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on Aug. 14. The lively performance featured lighting that gave the stage a black and white feel, and for audiences watching at home on their television screens it was as if FGL transported viewers back in time.

Backed by a band dressed in old-school suit attire reminiscent to their music video, the duo brought their hand clapped rhythms and catchy melodies to the Los Angeles studio audience. Throughout the entirety of their acoustic-driven performance, FGL gave an engaging live show that had the crowd clapping along.

The band released the song in June, and it features whistling hooks and memorable banjo accompaniment throughout. FGL’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley penned the song with Michael Hardy and Mark Holman.

“We are always wanting to push our sound forward and never make the same record twice,” Tyler previously said of the track. “We feel like we’ve upped our game on this project as well.”

“Simple” is FGL’s latest single and follows the chart-topping success of record breaking hit “Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha. The duo made chart history with “Meant to Be” after the song spent an unprecedented 37 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart, besting Sam Hunt’s previous 34-week record set last year with “Body Like A Back Road.”

“Meant to Be” has surpassed 1 billion total streams globally and became FGL’s first No. 1 Hot Country Songs debut. The song’s success has additional chart history for Bebe, who became the first solo female to launch in the No. 1 position on the chart.

Following their many radio accomplishments with “Meant to Be,” FGL and Bebe won Choice Country Song for the track at the 2018 Teen Choice Awards on Aug. 12.
