Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard Shares Serious Message About Gun Control— “Something Has to Change”

Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard is speaking out about the controversial topic of gun control, following the large amount of mass shootings that have occurred in this country over the past year.

As part of TOMS campaign to raise awareness for universal background checks,  the “SIMPLE” singer took to Instagram to share his feelings on the topic, urging fans to contact their representatives. The 31-year-old tells fans that “something has to change.”

Not wanting to get political, Tyler wrote a note to fans asking them to hear him.

“Please hear my heart. This is not a political post, but a post about the betterment of humanity. Its time we start the uncomfortable conversations to make a change in our country. It starts with us. Let’s #EndGunViolenceTogether,” Tyler wrote.

In the video, the award-winning artist shares statistics and explains the TOMS campaign further.

“I just saw a statistic that said there were 307 mass shootings in the last 311 days in our country, which is terrifying and devastating,” Tyler said. “As a proud gun owner myself, that’s a right and a privilege that I take very, very serious, as I know a lot of you guys do too. But I think we can all come together and all agree that something has to change. It’s unacceptable we shouldn’t have to walk out of the house and live in fear anymore. Lets come together as a country, let’s do our part.”

Tyler goes on to talk about TOMS campaign and asks fans to take action. “Go to TOMS.com to send your Representatives a postcard demanding they take action on what more than 90% of Americans agree on: universal background checks. I’m proud to partner with @TOMS to #endgunviolencetogether.”
