Gabby Barrett is at it again. After releasing two original songs on her own, the “American Idol” third place finisher is back at it, releasing yet another original tune called “Your Name On It.”
The uptempo rocking tune has Gabby singing to an ex-lover, warning him that she’ll get the last laugh by putting pencil to paper and writing a song about him. Decked out in a green t-shirt and baseball cap, Gabby delivers the tune with intense passion.
“Shame on you for ever saying you love me / It’s your fault for making me feel lucky / I believe in what you said and what’s worse all the things I felt / come on let me bring you all the way down. I got a pencil in my pocket / I got a song with your name on it,” Gabby sings in the chorus.
Gabby finished third on season 16 of American Idol behind Caleb Lee Hutchinson and winner Maddie Poppe. However, the Pennsylvania native has already released two previous originals, “Young Blood” and “Jesus and My Mama,” as well as numerous covers including Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now,” with boyfriend and “American Idol” contestant Cade Foehner.
Things are taking off for Gabby, who recently performed with Luke Bryan at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, as she gears up to kick off the American Idol: Live! Tour with fellow season 16 “Idol” contestants on July 11 in Redding, Calif.
