Trisha Yearwood Raises Glass To Toast Garth Brooks at Nashville Party For No. 1 Hit, “Ask Me How I Know”—”You Are Definitely My Number One”

-

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have a lot to celebrate. Not only has their current 3-year tour been named the biggest North American tour in history, selling 6.4 million tickets, but Garth also has the No. 1 album, The Anthology Part 1, The First Five Years and a No. 1 non-fiction book for the Anthology, as well as a No. 1 single, “Ask Me How I Know.”

One thing Garth does know, is how to close out a year. Prior to the first of seven shows in Nashville, the couple invited industry friends and family members to help them celebrate the hit single with songwriter, Mitch Rossell, who was celebrating his first-ever No. 1 hit.

Record industry folks praised Garth and Mitch and presented them with plaques for their hit song—Garth’s 20th No. 1. But it was Garth’s wife, Trisha, who had guests raise a glass to the the pair, sharing her feelings in a first-time public toast.

“You are definitely my number one,” Trisha said of her husband Garth. “Everybody in this room is here because you believe and you love this man. This is about Garth, this is about Mitch Rossell. This is my number one, the love of my life and you’ve become kind of my number one son Mitch, because I just love you and I’m so proud of you and I’m so happy for you. So tonight we’d like to raise a glass to the whole Pearl [Record label] team, to Mitch Rossell and to Garth Brooks. Cheers.”

Garth took the stage to thank his team, his crew and country radio for doing what they do. And in the end, Garth said it best when he said, “The truth is it’s been a hell of a ride. No matter what happens from here forward, my children are healthy, I’m with the love of my life. I could not be happier. Thank you.”

Congratulations on a very successful year.
