Shout out to George Strait to supporting veterans.

The Texan, who is a U.S. Army vet himself, has been partnering with long time friend Tom Cusick to host an annual golf invitational at The Resort at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort. This year’s tournament and auction raised $1.1 million for wounded military service men and women. That brings the annual events all-time total to $3 million, with this year being the most successful to date.

The event even included a performance by Strait, who was joined by Jamey Johnson, who’s co-written several of Strait’s hits. PGA Tour champion Jordan Spieth also made an appearance during the festivities.

Money raised benefits Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, founded by Rick Kell and David Feherty.
