“Redneck Woman” Singer Gretchen Wilson Arrested at Connecticut Airport


Country singer Gretchen Wilson has found herself in hot water. The “Redneck Woman” singer was arrested at Bradley International Airport on Tuesday night (Aug. 21).

According to WKRN.com, Gretchen was taken into custody after Connecticut State Police say she allegedly became belligerent on an incoming flight and caused a disturbance. While police were talking with Gretchen about the incident she became belligerent.

The 45-year-old singer has been charged with breach of peace and  bond was set at $1,000. WKRN reports that Gretchen is expected to face a judge on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Gretchen is best known for her No. 1 country hit, “Redneck Woman,” which catapulted the singer to stardom, earning her a Grammy award in 2004. She followed that up with Top 10 hits, “Here for the Party,” and “When I Think About Cheating.”
