Gretchen Wilson’s announced that she will be hitting the road for her Workin’ Women Tour, which launches on Saturday (June 16). The 10-date trek runs through September and has the country singer traveling through Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, and Oklahoma, among other states.

“This is going to be a really fun summer,” Gretchen said in a statement. “I’ve got a really great band put together that’s a little more southern rock and a little more on the heavy edge of country, and we’re ready to go!”

Oregon native Jessie G will serve as opener throughout Gretchen’s tour. The two singers met in Oregon several years ago where Jessie was in a battle of the bands competition with the winner receiving an opening slot on the “Redneck Woman” singer’s tour. Impressed by what she heard, Jessie became the first artist signed to Gretchen’s Redneck Records label.

“I’ve been making records and traveling the world for more than 14 years,” Gretchen notes. “I’ve met and seen some extraordinarily talented artists, but none have made the impression that Jessie has. Jessie G means business when it comes to her music.”

Each night of her tour, Gretchen will invite the young singer to join her headlining set to perform “Army Ranger.” Additionally, Jessie G will have a full opening slot at the start of the show.

“I’ve always had a love and respect for Gretchen,” Jessie explains. “Her spunk and tenacity reminded me of the women in my family. I admire her for being one of the first women to sing with the same sentiment, and about the same stories, that men sing about. She’s brave and has no boundaries that confine her, and I am incredibly excited and honored to be on tour with her.”
