John Anderson has one of the most distinctive voices in country music history. It’s not the deepest and at times, sounds more like a classical growl than anything. Anderson’s distinct vocal stylings and ability to deliver ballads like few others before made him of the biggest names in Nashville in the mid-90s.
Anderson, a Florida native, also inspired another Floridian to pursue his country music dreams– Jake Owen. Owen has often called Anderson his hero, so one of his latest Instagram videos of him paying homage to Anderson is really no surprise. That is, until you hear the song.
Owen took on Meghan Trainor’s mega-hit “All About That Bass,” but did the whole thing in Anderson’s voice.
It was uniquely perfect.
In 2014, Owen covered “Seminole Wind” before Florida State played Auburn in the BCS National Championship game.
