Jason Aldean uses his platform as a country artist to raise money for countless causes and charities that are close to his heart. Over the weekend, the “Drowns The Whiskey” singer dug out his old baseball glove to support local fire and police departments to raise money for fallen officers during the Battle of the Badges charity softball tournament.

On Saturday (Oct. 20), Jason geared up for a local fundraiser at Evans Park in Spring Hill, Tenn. by playing on the Spring Hill Police Department’s softball team. The Spring Hill Police Department battled the Spring Hill Fire Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol for charity softball games that raised money for the families of two fallen first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty earlier this year.

According to Nashville’s Fox 17, Sgt. Daniel Baker from the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office was shot and killed in May during a suspicious vehicle call while Jason Dickey of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department died in February battling a house fire. Both men leave behind wives and children.

“I love helping people do things like this, raise money for great causes, and it’s something that I’ve been fortunate enough to get involved a lot over the years,” Jason told the local news station in an interview.

The singer’s wife, Brittany, young son Memphis, and two older daughters, Keeley and Kendyl, were on hand to cheer on the singer during the game.

“We had a great time today supporting the local Fire and Police Departments! Thanks for all you do,” Brittay captions a photo of the crew on Instagram.
