Jason Aldean Honors Las Vegas Shooting Victims and First Responders with Touching Tribute

Jason Aldean and radio DJ Bobby Bones joined together at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas to honor the first responders, who saved lives during the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting and to remember the victims.

As a video honoring the victims played for the crowd, Jason and Bobby took the stage alongside police, firefighter and EMS members that were first to the scene on Oct. 1, helping to save lives.

“These men and women up here with me on this stage tonight represent just some of the brave first responders who reacted selflessly on one October. They represent the spirit, they represent the strength, they represent the resilience of the entire city,” Bobby said.

“On behalf of myself, my family and my family in the country music community, I want to say thank you to the city of Las Vegas for your courage, strength and kindness,” Jason said. “Tonight, we are all proud to be Vegas Strong.”

Jason was on stage during the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas when a gunman sprayed bullets on toward the stage and into the crowd, killing 58 and wounding hundreds more. He returned to Vegas close to the one-year anniversary of the shooting, telling reporters at the festival about his return to the stage.

“To be back in Vegas this close to it is, at times, a little weird, but in another sense it’s nice to be back,” Jason said. “It’s really our first performance we’ve had since then, so tonight is going to be another step in getting through all that stuff, and coming back here is going to be a big part of it.”
