Jason Aldean is one of those superstars that made the rounds before he made it big. And as he was coming up in the bars and honky tonks playing covers, he used to cover Montgomery Gentry‘s “Lonely and Gone.”
Aldean played the song again during a recent tour stop to honor Troy Gentry, telling fans, “Those guys were always really cool to me coming up when I was a new artist, they kinda took me under their wing and were really cool to me and I hated to hear that [news].”
Aldean also shared, “One thing I know about Troy is he always loved a good time. He always had a smile on his face and liked a good party, and tonight’s a good party, so here’s to Troy Gentry.”
Aldean also his remembrance of his friend, “T-Roy” on Twitter.
