Jessie James Decker is back with a vengeance on her new song, “Boots.” A track she describes as a girl anthem, the song serves as a kissoff to haters.
“People keep on talkin’ / Honey, I just smile / They say I’ll never make it but I’ve been here for a while / They’ll never bring me down / I’m here on solid ground / I’ll never fall, I’m walkin’ tall as long as I’m around,” she sings on the song’s memorable first verse.
With boot-stomping rhythms and an infectious chorus, Jessie adequately gets her point across as she dares haters to walk a mile in her boots. With powerhouse vocals and a distinct swagger that brings to mind old school Shania Twain, “Boots” begs to be played on repeat.
In addition to being her new single, “Boots” is featured in Jessie’s commercial for JustFab Online. Listen to the new song in its entirety below.
Jessie has been keeping busy this year between new music and writing a lifestyle book, Just Jessie, available Oct. 2. More recently, she shared a heartfelt note with her husband upon the announcement of his retirement from football. Eric Decker revealed last month that his decision to leave the sport was to spend more time with wife Jessie and babies Vivianne, Eric “Bubba”, and baby Forrest.
“I loved every minute cheering him on in the stands, meeting amazing friends along the way, bringing our new babies and toddlers to the games as they chanted ‘daddy football daddy football’ in the car on the way the stadium each Sunday,” she shared on Instagram. “I have loved every moment of the last seven years watching my husband kick some serious ass! It’s a career he should be proud of. Can’t wait to share the next adventure with you babe and the amazing things you will do in the future! I love you so much my lover!!!”
