Jimmy Fallon and Miley Cyrus Recreated Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s Classic “Islands In The Steam” and It’s Just What the World Needed to See

If you haven’t taken a deep dive into the musical friendship of Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton lately– you’re really missing out. The iconic pair was nominated for a CMA Award together as recently as 2013 for their duet “You Can’t Make Old Friends.” Last winter, Kenny and Dolly reunited during the Smoky Mountains Rise Telethon: A Benefit for My People Fund.

It was an absolute classic– Kenny almost hit Dolly in the head and Dolly almost knocked Kenny over.

And since you can’t make old friends, Miley Cyrus and Jimmy Fallon recreated the iconic live performance video of “Islands in the Stream” from 1983.

At first glance, you can’t tell it’s not Kenny and Dolly. It’s uncanny. The filter on the camera even makes it seem like 1983.

The only thing missing? The palpable sexual chemistry always bubbling at the surface between Kenny and Dolly.

And– the original.

Better than ever.
