After reaching the top spot with his latest single “Heartache On The Dance Floor” late last year, Jon Pardi found some time in his busy schedule to celebrate not one, but two of his songs that reached the top of the charts.
The California native celebrated his singles, “Dirt on My Boots” and “Heartache On The Dance Floor,” at an intimate party held at BMI in Nashville on Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 21).
As friends, family and industry colleagues gathered, Jon was joined by the song’s writers—Jesse Frasure, Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley, Brice Long and Bart Butler—to share a few words.
“It’s been a great year last year and fixing to be a good one this year. Thank you so much for believing in me,” Jon said to the crowd. “Thank you everybody. You guys know who you are. You’ve been there since day one. I’ve been here for a while now and Feb. 23, 2008 is when I moved to town and ten years later I have three number ones and we’re at a double number one party. Thank you. Thanks for believing in me.”
Jon’s new single, “She Ain’t In It,” written by Clint Daniels and Wynn Varble, is Jon’s fourth single from his sophomore album California Sunrise. The 32-year-old singer is currently on tour with Miranda Lambert as part of her Livin’ Like Hippies Tour, with the next stop taking them to Knoxville, Tenn., on March 1.
One Country‘s Kelly Sutton caught up with Jon before the celebration to talk about the his much deserved success.
“When the fans are singing about the songs and you start the first chord of that song and you hear the roar of the crowd, it’s a celebration—there’s my real celebration,” Jon told One Country. “You can bring your cameras and talk about it but the real thing is on stage every time we get on stage.”
