Jon Pardi just released a pitch-perfect video for his lonesome ballad “She Ain’t In It.” The song accurately describes the feeling of loss and rejection after a breakup and the desire every scorned man has of wanting to avoid his ex at all costs while wanting nothing more than to be back by her side.
The video is shot in black & white and every shot is slowed down to give them a dream-like quality. These are either memories or what Pardi is hoping for. But the lyrics tell a different story.
Don’t wanna hear her name
I don’t wanna see her face
I know it’s gonna hurt
If I run into her somewhere
We could hit that place down by the interstate
Out past the city limits
Hangout all night long
Hear a country song
As long as she ain’t in it
The song and video is all too familiar and resonant for guys who have just been through a breakup. To be frank, it is one of the best videos I’ve seen in a long time.
“She Ain’t In It” follows Pardi’s three consecutive No. 1 hits including “Dirt On My Boots,” Platinum-selling “Head Over Boots” and “Heartache On The Dance Floor.” “She Ain’t In It” is off Pardi’s GOLD-certified, No. 1 Billboard debut and sophomore album California Sunrise.
Pardi is currently performing nationwide with Miranda Lambert on the Livin’ Like Hippies Tour and it was recently announced that he will join Luke Bryan’s What Makes You Country Tour this summer.
