Last night (Dec. 7) Universal Pictures premiered the trailer for the highly-anticipated film, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”—the fifth installment of the “Jurassic Park“ film series, during Thursday Night Football.
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” directed by J. A. Bayona, is the sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World, which starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing.
Chris and Bryce return in their roles along with B. D. Wong. New additions include Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin and James Cromwell. And if you missed the cast from the original Jurassic park films, don’t worry, Jeff Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the sequel takes place several years after “Jurassic World.” Claire has founded the Dinosaur Protection Group, which is helping to get the dinosaurs off Isla Nublar as a volcano threatens them. She informs Owen and enlists his help to get back to the island and try and save the roaming dinosaurs.
“I know why we’re here,” Owen says in the trailer. “A rescue op to save the dinosaurs from an island that is about to explode. What could go wrong?”
“Blue is alive. You raised her,” Claire responds. And off they go.
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” will hit theaters June 22, 2018. Who’s ready?
