Kacey had much to celebrate at the close of 2018. Her latest album, Golden Hour, was nominated for several Grammy Awards, including Best Country Album and the all-genre Album of the Year category. She was also recognized by the Recording Academy for her songs “Butterflies” and “Space Cowboy.”

She reflected on the success of the project in a heartfelt post on Instagram in the days leading up to 2019.

“I have had the time of my life creating and I want to thank all of you out there who’ve put wings to my ideas and helped push them into places new and welcoming,” she writes. “We help each other feel less alone in all our feelings and I think that is beautiful. If that’s all I could ever say I accomplished with my Earth time I’d be cool with that.”
