Kane Brown shows off his sentimental side on his heartfelt new single “Good As You,” released today. Kane penned the song with frequent collaborators Brock Berryhill, Shy Carter, Taylor Phillips, and Will Weatherly. It is the second single off his sophomore album, Experiment, and follows the success of previous No. 1 single “Lose It.”
The song will impact country radio on Jan. 7 and has the Georgia native singing of how he hopes to be as good as his wife, Katelyn Jae. “It may take a hundred lifetimes to do / But baby I just want to be good as you,” he croons on the track’s chorus.
Delicate banjo accompaniment alongside soaring guitar parts help to flesh out the sound while Kane’s booming vocals and heartfelt lyrics remain at the forefront of the track. In a new performance video filmed for Vevo X, “Good As You” comes to life in the live setting.
The feature marks Kane as the first country artist filmed for the video platform’s new series, which aims to connect artists to their audiences through original content. Kane joins pop artists Alessia Cara, Demi Lovato, Lorde and Khalid among others as Vevo X alumni.
While Kane has had a successful 2018, he is showing no signs of slowing down as he’s set to perform twice on the West Coast Celebration of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2019” on ABC on Dec. 31. The 25-year-old was also recently named Billboard‘s No. 2 Top Country Artist of 2018. Additionally, Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck named his previous chart topper “Heaven” as 2018’s No. 1 Top Country Airplay song and No. 1 Most Heard Country song, respectively.
