Earlier this month when news broke that daytime talk show Pickler & Ben was being cancelled, fans were understandably upset. After all, the talk show that focused on lifestyle, beauty, celebrity and human interest stories, was nominated for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Hosts at the upcoming 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
However, after two seasons the show will no longer be on the air. Now, the two hosts are speaking out about what happened and thanking their fans for a wonderful two years. In a video posted to Facebook, Ben and Kellie speak out about the news.
“It is correct, yes, we will not be returning for a season three unfortunately,” Ben shares.
“We need a miracle,” Kellie adds.
Ben goes on to explain what happened to the popular show. “In the business of television if you don’t air in L.A., New York all these big, big cities, you don’t make enough money. We were on track to do that and then new shows came out and prevented us from doing that. They prevented us from being in these big markets. So we don’t have anywhere to go really. So really, we’re just a show without a home.”
Kellie then added her thanks and what an honor it has been working on Pickler & Ben.
“It has been such a blessing. So wonderful,” she said. “We want to thank you all so much for being so supportive and putting up with Ben and myself everyday. We hope that we’ve made you laugh and made your day better.”
But there is some good news for fans of the show. “The good news is that new episodes will be airing throughout May and the show will be on until September,” Ben added. “Thank you so much for everything. Like I said, it’s been an honor being a part of your lives.”
Pickler & Ben produced by Faith Hill, former “Oprah Winfrey Show” producer Lisa Erspamer and Jason Owen, CEO of Sandbox Entertainment, launched in September 2017, with a special welcome from Faith and a surprise visit by Dolly Parton.
