Kelly Clarkson has a lot to be happy about, including her performance at the iHeart Radio Festival performance and her upcoming talk show that was revealed earlier this month. However, the mom of two got emotional backstage when discussing the topic of Carrie Underwood’s miscarriages with ET.
Carrie revealed to CBS Sunday Morning, that she suffered three miscarriages in the last two years before finally becoming pregnant with her second child. “I’d kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music, and I have a baby,” she said. “We got pregnant early 2017, and didn’t work out.”
When asked about how happy she was for Carrie’s pregnancy, Kelly got emotional about her friend’s story.
“I’m so happy for her. I didn’t know a lot of the situations that were going on behind the scenes. I have a lot of friends who have gone through [miscarriages] several times as well,” Kelly said. “I was emailing [Carrie] and I was like, ‘It’s so important that you talk about it. I know you don’t have to because it’s a hard thing to do, but it makes women that feel inferior or fell like something’s wrong with them, it makes them feel comfortable and other people go through it. It’s a really hardcore thing as a woman”
“Why are you making me cry before I perform. It’s very easy, I cry easily,” she added before heading off to perform.
Carrie announced that she was pregnant with her second child during a video on Instagram. The new baby will join older brother Isaiah (3), making the Fisher’s a family of four.
