It’s ba-ack! Actually, it isn’t back just yet, but “The Voice” is set to premiere season 15 on Sept. 24, and when it comes to reality show expertise, the coaches are getting a double dose with “American Idol” alums Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson occupying the spinning thrones.
In addition to expertise, they bring two of the finest voices in all genres of music, and a truckload of the zaniness that we’ve come to know and love from the whole coaching staff, which also includes Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.
In a new promotional video, the coaches talk about returning for a new season, and for Jennifer, who started at season 13, but sat out season 14, “the block” is a new twist in the competition. And, although it’s obvious that she and Kelly are great pals, she totally plays the friend card when Kelly blocks her from one of the contestants.
“I thought we was friends! Why would you do this,” Jennifer jokingly pleads as Kelly doubles over in laughter.
“They’re finally fighting,” Adam exclaims.
Only briefly, Adam. Later Kelly declares to Jennifer, “I want to be on your team, I get it.”
However, we don’t doubt that Kelly is seeking a second victory after unseating Blake who has won a whopping six times! But there’s even less doubt that the “I Lived It” singer will be seeking redemption and a seventh win.
Country music will be well represented within the coaching staff and advisors this year. Along with Blake and Kelly, who is part of country music’s extended family, Keith Urban will appear as Blake’s advisor and Thomas Rhett will advise Kelly’s team.
We’re wishing all of the coaches and, even more, the contestants, the best of luck!
