Kelsea Ballerini recently sat down with People ahead of hosting a Friendsgiving dinner in partnership with Bumble BFF in Austin on Nov. 9, and discussed some of her best friends in the music industry and who she calls when she’s in need of advice.
“In country specifically, Hillary Scott has always been someone I’ve been able to call and ask questions to and cry to but also celebrate with,” Kelsea says of the female member of Lady Antebellum. “She’s really been a big sister to me in country.”
She also praises Carly Pearce’s success, adding that women empowering women is important to her.
“I love Carly Pearce — me and her have had a really good friendship the last few years, and I love seeing her rise all the time,” she adds. “Also, I really feel like in the last year I’ve learned the importance of females sticking up for other females and really empowering each other and learning that we really are stronger when we’re together.”
When it comes to entertaining and hosting parties, Taylor Swift is the one Kelsea calls.
“She always seems to have a photo booth,” Kelsea notes. “I feel like everyone loves a good photo booth. I always love to do stuff that’s different and out of my wheelhouse. I’ve never hosted a Friendsgiving before so it’s fun to be doing something new.”
Kelsea will be heeding Taylor’s advice next week when she hosts her first Thanksgiving in Nashville with husband Morgan Evans.
