Kelsea Ballerini might be one of our favorite celebs to follow on Instagram. From her so-cute-you-could-throw-up photos of her and her fiance Morgan Evans to pictures from her bachelorette party, she loves to connect with her fans and share the best parts of her life.

But if you look closely, there are actually a lot of hair and makeup tips we all can (and should) be taking from her.

1.

Applying a thick layer of mascara on your top lashes (or even going for some false lashes) while leaving the rest of your face more natural gives you a simple yet dramatic look.

2.

Highlighter is a must! Even just a light swipe on the top of your cheekbones can make you glow. Plus, it’s a great way to take a simple makeup look (like this) and make it pop.

3.

Say “yes” to boho waves, especially on busy mornings. Just curl and wave a few pieces, spray some texturizing spray in your hair, and walk out the door!

4.

A bright, bold lip paired with a dark smoky eye is a killer combo. Just like Kelsea, keep the blush and other colored makeup items to a minimum so your lips can stand out.

5.

The power ponytail is ALWAYS a good idea (especially on those days where dry shampoo is a requirement). Just tease the crown of your hair a bit, put it up in a high pony, and loosely curl the pieces in the ponytail.

6.

You can take a dramatic cat eye to the next level by applying a dusting of a pigment like dark blue to help your eye color pop! If you go for this look, stick to a neutral lip color and go easy on the blush and bronzer so your eyes remain the focus.

7.

French braids are arguably the best (and cutest) option for your hair on lake days. No having to worry about the wind giving you endless an amount of knots to detangle!
