Kelsea Ballerini played to a hometown crowd Saturday night (Sept. 9) when she opened for Lady Antebellum as part of their You Look Good Tour. The show wrapped up the U.S. leg of the tour at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Ballerini was the second act to take the stage—following a solid performance by newcomer Brett Young—dressed in a sparkly skirt and stiletto heels. How she can walk in those heels, much less rock out on stage, one will never know.
The moment the blonde beauty hit the stage, the crowd was on their feet. She kicked off her set with rocking renditions of her No. 1 hits, “Love Me Like You Mean It” and “Dibs,” from her debut album, The First Time.
The rising-star treated concert-goers to a glimpse of what we can expect from her upcoming album, Unapologetically, performing such songs as the lead single, “Legends” —to which she invited songwriters Hillary Lindsey and Forest Glen Whitaker to join her on stage—”I Hate Love Songs” and the album’s title track.
It was songs like “Stilettos,” “Peter Pan,” and “XO” that showcased Ballerini’s stunning vocals, proving to all that we have a true vocalist on our hands and that her nomination for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year is more than well-deserved.
