Kenny Chesney, David Lee Murphy, Thomas Rhett Take Home Early CMA Award Wins

Just hours before country’s biggest night is about to begin, Kenny Chesney, David Lee Murphy and Thomas Rhett received some good news from the CMA.

All three have already earned themselves CMA Awards wins. Two categories were announced Wednesday morning (Nov. 14) including Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

David Lee Murphy and Kenny Chesney were honored with the Musical Event of the Year for “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” DLM’s first No. 1 hit since “Dust on The Bottle” in 1995.

Thomas Rhett also kicked the day of with a win, earning Music Video of the Year for “Marry Me,” directed by TK McKamy. TR has two more chances to take home another statue during the show. The father of two is nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year (Life Changes).
