Blind auditions on “The Voice” are going by seemingly fast, which means the teams are filling up and the coaches are getting a little more picky about who they turn their chairs for. But when Kirk Jay took the stage to sing a soulful, stunning rendition of Rascal Flatts’ hit song, “Bless The Broken Road,” he earned four chair turns — and rightfully so.

After his performance, the coaches began their hilarious battles amongst each other to get Kirk on their team— but when Kirk said he’s “country ’till the day I die,” I had a feeling I knew he was going to pick.

But first, Jennifer Hudson asked Kirk why he chose the song he did, and his answer was as genuine as they come.

“It was the first country song I ever heard in my life,” Kirk said. “I was on the way to school one day and “Bless The Broken Road” came on and I started crying and got chills came all over my body — this is something I want to pursue.”

Ultimately, Kirk went with the obvious choice of Blake Shelton— and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for him.
