Rain didn’t stop thousands of country fans from making a trip to Rockefeller Center on Friday morning to catch a live performance from Lady Antebellum. The seven-time GRAMMY award-winning trio performed three of their hits for an audience on a stage setup outside the NBC studios as part of Today’s Summer Concert Series in New York City.

The trio kicked off their set with their latest single, “Heart Break,” where their stunning harmonies were showcased to the New York crowd. The title track off their sixth studio album released last year, the band told Carson Daly while working on the project they decided to travel outside of Nashville.

“We went down to Florida to the beach and got away from everything that was normal in our day-to-day life and then we went out to Los Angeles for a couple weeks as well,” Lady A’s Hillary Scott explained. “We just wanted to switch it up. We had been a band for almost 10 years at that point.”

Meanwhile, band mate Charles Kelley said the decision wasn’t entirely made to focus on their music. “Let’s be honest. We wanted to sleep in,” he admitted. “We all have kids and it was an excuse to go and sleep in.”

The trio’s “Today” performance also included previous hit single “You Look Good.” The high-energy track boasted a horn section that highlighted the band’s fun side and had fans dancing along in the rain.

“This is incredible,” Hillary said, looking out into the massive crowd ahead of performing “I Run To You.” The 2009 chart topper was a song fans voted for the trio to sing during their “Today” appearance and it was easy to see why. Named the CMA Single of the Year at the 2009 awards show, “I Run To You” also won a GRAMMY Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

Lady Antebellum are set to begin their co-headlining Summer Plays On Tour with Darius Rucker on July 19 in Toronto, Canada.
