Lauren Alaina is the ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year and she found out the news when Reba McEntire called her up and said, “this is Reba McEntire, I’m in Las Vegas and I’m calling you, Lauren, to tell you that you have won the ACM New Female Vocalist of the year.”

Lauren was speechless because she was in tears, which led to Reba saying, “you’re going to make me cry honey, cut that out. I’m so proud for you… this is what our business needs, more like you.”

By the end of the call, Reba said she was in tears, too, which– same.

In addition, Lauren will perform on the ACM Awards, to be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 8:00 PM ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

These awards mark the first-ever ACM Award win for Lauren. She is also nominated for Vocal Event of the Year for “What Ifs” with Kane Brown, and Midland is nominated for Vocal Group of the Year and Single Record of the Year for “Drinkin’ Problem.”
