Luke Bryan Made Sure the Word ‘Neurotic’ Was In His Hit Single, “Light It Up”

After some extensive research, it seems like Luke Bryan might be one of the first country music artists to ever use the word “neurotic” in a song. Rock legends like John Lennon and Chicago have been able to use the phrase, but not quite like Luke on his current hit single, “Light It Up.

In an exclusive clip, Luke shared, “so many people breakup, fight, argue and fall in love via text message…I think we were able to really capture that anxiousness and anxiety that you feel [waiting on a text message]. And we used the word, ‘neurotic,’ which is, it is what you become. You become so neurotic until you hear back from this person. Musically, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever done and we’re loving the reactions from the fans out on the road.”

“Light It Up” was written by Luke Bryan and Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi.
