Luke Bryan’s Impressive Performance Of “O Holy Night” Will Give You Chills

Imagine that you are choosing the lineup for the CMA Country Christmas. Which song would you give to Luke Bryan? I would give him something fun like “Run Run Rudolph” or “Rocking Around The Christmas Tree,” something he could get the whole crowd into. I would never had thought to have Bryan sing “O Holy Night”a heavy, vocally challenging, hymn. And that’s why I’m not in charge of the CMA Country Christmas.

Bryan’s take on the Christmas staple was nothing if not impressive. The chorus, with it’s notable diminish and ever escalating intensity, is a challenge for any singer. To see Bryan pull it off so skillfully made me wonder why he doesn’t showcase his voice like this more often.

His sets are peppered with slower, more somber songs like “Fast”, but tends to stick to songs that let people cut loose and have fun. After hearing him sing “O Holy Night” I wonder why he doesn’t slow it down more often.
