Luke Combs has had a successful run at country radio with three back-to-back No. 1 hits including “Hurricane,” “When It Rains It Pours” and “One Number Away.” Now the North Carolina native is hoping for a fourth chart topper with the release of his next single, “She Got the Best of Me.”
“She Got the Best of Me” is an old song from the singer’s catalog that he added to his recently released deluxe album, This One’s For You Too. The project features five new songs, including “She Got the Best of Me,” which Luke wrote four years ago.
“4 years ago when I was still living in Boone, NC, I came to Nashville with a buddy of mine and we went to Revival at Tin Roof, which was run by Channing Wilson & Rob Snyder,” Luke shares on social media. “My buddy was scheduled to write with Channing & Rob but couldn’t make it, so he passed my number along to Channing and we wrote a song together that day called ‘She Got the Best of Me.’ I’m excited to announce it will be my next single at country radio – Channing & Rob’s 1st single. Congrats fellas! Proud to call yall friends.”

The soaring power ballad has Luke reflecting on a broken heart. His whiskey soaked vocals combined with memorable musical accompaniment further to complement the tale of Luke being unable to shake a former relationship off his mind.
“She got the best of me / She broke my heart / Now all that’s left of me / Is beating in this guitar / Every night, a different town / She follows me around / So you get what’s left of me / Yeah, you get what’s left of me / ‘Cause she got the best of me,” Luke sings on the chorus.
Things are picking up for Luke, who was recently forced to cancel several tour dates after being placed on vocal rest. He’s set to perform as part of PBS’s “A Capitol Fourth” special live from Washington, D.C. on July 4. Additionally, he’ll join Jason Aldean through September as part of Jason’s High Noon Neon Tour.
Yup! I’m back at 100% and CAN’T WAIT to rock for all of y’all the rest of the year. https://t.co/Ck4Mth5xoo
