Luke Combs is kicking off the new year right by sharing a brand new song just for his fans. After noticing that he was three thousand followers short of a million on Instagram, Luke made a deal with fans to get him over the sweet spot number.
“Here’s the deal — I’m 3K followers away from 1M on Instagram,” Luke Tweeted. “@nicohocking [Luke’s fiancee] bet me we can’t get there by midnight; if we do, I’ll post a video of a new song that y’all have never heard tomorrow. Let’s go.”
Looks like Luke’s fans came through for Luke, giving him the win. The “She Got the Best of Me” singer hit the million mark just in time for the new year. Luke kept his promise and posted a video of himself singing the new song, “Every Little Bit Helps,” on Facebook to share with fans.
“Hey guys, I’m here to play you a new song,” he said in the video. “I told you if you got me to a million Instagram followers before 2019 that I would play it for you. And you did, so I’m going to.”
Luke went on to wish a great new year to his fans and fill them in on what’s coming up in 2019 for Luke.
“I cannot wait to see you guys on the road for the Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour. Got rehearsals coming up for that,” he added. “Going back in the studio to record some new stuff for you guys. Lots of exciting stuff coming up this year.”
The new song, written by Luke, James McNair and Chase McGill just before Christmas, has Luke singing about trying to get over a past relationship that has him still remembering her.
“Might not get me all the way over you / But every little bit gets me a little bit closer to / Walking right out of the valley of the shadow of death / Step by step,” he sings on the chorus.
