Luke Combs Debuts “She Got the Best of Me” With Passionate Live Performance

-

Luke Combs kicked off his week in style with a performance on Good Morning America. During his three-minute appearance on the morning show on Monday (July 30), the singer proved exactly why he’s one of country music’s most buzzed about new acts.

Ahead of Luke making the live television debut of his new single, “She Got the Best of Me,” it was revealed that his debut album, This One’s For You, is currently the most streamed country album of 2018. With three back-to-back No. 1 hits on the release, Luke has made his mark on the genre.

Luke then launched into a powerful performance of his new single. Dressed in a light blue button down t-shirt, jeans, boots and a baseball cap, the singer was at ease on stage. Performing to the New York studio audience, Luke’s emotional vocals were at the forefront of the nostalgic ballad of long lost love. Accompanied by pedal steel, three guitarists and a drummer, the music only helped add to Luke’s powerful belt.

“She got the best of me / She broke my heart / Now all that’s left of me / Is beating in this guitar / Every night, a different town / She follows me around / So you get what’s left of me / Yeah, you get what’s left of me / ‘Cause she got the best of me,” Luke sings on the chorus.

Luke wrote “She Got the Best of Me” with Channing Wilson and Rob Snyder. It is one of five new tracks featured on the deluxe edition of his debut album, This One’s For You Too. He revealed the song would be his new single in a post on Twitter in June.

“4 years ago when I was still living in Boone, NC, I came to Nashville with a buddy of mine and we went to Revival at Tin Roof, which was run by Channing Wilson & Rob Snyder,” Luke shares on social media. “My buddy was scheduled to write with Channing & Rob but couldn’t make it, so he passed my number along to Channing and we wrote a song together that day called ‘She Got the Best of Me.’ I’m excited to announce it will be my next single at country radio – Channing & Rob’s 1st single. Congrats fellas! Proud to call yall friends.”
