Supposedly, the best song Taylor Swift has ever written– “All Too Well”– is about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal, which lasted for 3 months in 2010.
In the song, Swift breaks down a fall weekend with Gyllenhall where they drove around New York, looked at leaves and she wore a scarf. They also visited Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jake’s sister. Swift left her scarf at Maggie’s house and Jake still has it. According to the song.
I walked through the door with you, the air was cold,
But something ’bout it felt like home somehow.
And I left my scarf there at your sister’s house,
And you’ve still got it in your drawer even now.
But, finally, years later Maggie has said she doesn’t know anything about that scarf. And she doesn’t know why people even know about it.
Maggie told Andy Cohen during, “Watch What Happens Live,” that she has no scarf, “You know, I never understood why everyone asked me about this scarf… what is this? Huh. I am in the dark about the scarf, it’s totally possible. I don’t know.”
I’m well aware that Maggie Gyllenhaal lives in a different world than I do, but she still lives in the same world as Taylor Swift— the one where everyone knows about this song, this scarf and those damn maple lattes they drank.
Come on, Maggie.
You may not remember it “All Too Well,” but you know what she’s talking about.
