After a sold out show at Shepherds Bush, Maren Morris took to Instagram to thank her fans for their support of her album, Hero, and to share a bit about what she’s learned while on tour, and since coming into fame.
“Hi, guys. I had a thought going into my first sold out London show at Shepherds Bush tonight. For some reason, being away from home gives me some clarity, or maybe it’s just the jet lag talking. These are the last dates of my official HERO album cycle. What an incredible two years of setting up, promoting, and touring this debut. Learned a lot. Won some cool things. Learned to not tweet after 2am. Learned to apologize when I know I’m wrong or hurt someone. I’ve never been the kind to chase down fame or money or anything completely superficial and fleeting. At award shows. I’m sweating the same bullets as I do before my own shows because I just want the performance to be amazing for you guys, ever single time. What I see I’ve achieved is an audience. A fan base across the globe. I see thousands of faces in the crowds now singing back to me. I know we’re going to grow together, age together, laugh and cry together. I hope I’ll see some of you in 30 years and be like, “Oh my god, remember that one show?” I can’t wait. Thank you for being the best f****** fans I could ever ask for. I love you. Here’s to the next album and hopefully many more.”
Maren and her beau, Ryan Hurd, have been sharing lots of sweet Instagram posts and stories about their travels since the CMAs.
