Walmart Yodeling Sensation Mason Ramsey Made His Live TV Debut on ‘Good Morning America’ and We Need His Outfit ASAP

-

Last year, Mason Ramsey was just a regular kid from Illinois— but after a video of him singing Hank Williams’ “Lovesick Blues” in a Walmart grocery store went viral, he now has over 2.4 million followers on Instagram, released his own original song, “Famous,” (which entered at no. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100 list,) and is making appearances at Coachella.

Now, at 11-years-old, he’s officially made his live television debut, performing his single “Famous” on Good Morning America— and he was as calm, cool and collected as could be. While his performance alone was worth the watch, his outfit was simply the icing on the cake. He wore a white cowboy hat (as every good cowboy should), an embroidered and embellished jacket, and what might be the coolest pair of cowboy boots I’ve ever seen an 11-year-old wear.

Luckily, we found his exact pair of python boots for you from Dan Post Boots— because who doesn’t want to channel their inner Mason Ramsey?

When asked what his next big dream is now that he’s performed on live television, Mason said: “Well, how about this— how about I say I want to perform all around the world?”

Mason took to Instagram after his performance to share a heartfelt video of his journey so far, saying: “I just want to say …Thank You. Me and my Grandpa Ernie started doing this together because we both love country music. Being from a small town of 700 people, and having no internet…playing shows gave us something to do… even if it was just at the nursing home, truck stop, or Walmart.”

I just want to say …Thank You. Me and my Grandpa Ernie started doing this together because we both love country music. Being from a small town of 700 people, and having no internet…playing shows gave us something to do… even if it was just at the nursing home, truck stop, or Walmart. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My Grandpa Ernie taught me everything I know about Hank Williams, the history of country music, and would always drive me an hour from Illinois to Kentucky to get guitar lessons. Together we made my first appearance at the Kentucky Opry when I was four. Sang onstage with Josh Turner that same year, opened for Gene Watson at five, and joined Kenny Rogers onstage at seven. Then in April I went “viral.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We’ve been doing this for a while but never knew we’d be able to take it this far. We’re still shocked and still figuring it out everyday. But thanks to you guys I’ve got an EP out (that just went #1 on iTunes country!) and we’ve been traveling & playing shows in places we’d only talked or dreamed about. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We both want to say thank you. We know I still gotta prove myself and pay my dues. Thanks a million for just giving us a shot. We’re gonna try our best. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ <3 Mason and Ernie
