Michael Ray’s Dad Recovering From Open-Heart Surgery After Singer Asks For Prayers

-

Michael Ray used his social media powers, reaching 190 thousand followers on Instagram, to ask for prayers for his dad, Jerry, who was undergoing open-heart surgery.

The Florida native took to Instagram on Wednesday (Dec. 27), only two days after Christmas, asking his fans for their prayers and good vibes.

“Dad Since Day 1 you have had my 6 and I’ll always have yours…,” Michael wrote. “please send good vibes and prayers to my pops has he goes into open heart surgery this morning. Love you all! MR.”

Thousands of fans responded, sending their love, prayers and good vibes to the Ray family. Those prayers seemed to have worked as Michael returned to Instagram after the surgery (Dec. 28) to update fans on his dad’s recovery.

“Thank you all for the good Vibes and Prayers you all sent,” Michael said. “Dad is out and now on the road to recovery. Pls continue to send some more when you can as it’s a long road. Thank you to Dr Cook and his team of Surgeons at Leesburg Regional for taking such great care of him! Wanted to post this video from a few weeks ago when Dad and my uncle came to #nashville and we had a late night #hankwilliamsjr jam! Looking forward to more of these. Much Love to each and everyone of you! -MR.”

It’s been an emotional week for Michael and his family. Prior to the prayer request, Michael was arrested on Dec. 20 in his hometown of Eustis, Fla., for driving while under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana. The singer apologized shortly after the incident in a statement.

“I want to apologize to my fans, family, and my hometown community for placing myself in this situation. I am so very sorry for the disappointment these events have caused everyone. I know it will take time; however, I will do everything I can to rebuild your trust,” Michael said.

We wish Michael’s dad a speedy recovery.
