Even if you didn’t watch the 51st Annual CMA Awards, you’ve probably heard about Carrie Underwood’s “In Memoriam” performance of “Softly and Tenderly” that had the audience– and Carrie– in tears.
Carrie Underwood’s supportive husband, Mike Fisher, posted a chilling and touching photo on Instagram of Carrie during her performance as the spotlight shined down on her.
“Hard to put words to this moment last night. I’ve seen her perform countless times but this one may be my favorite all time. So much meaning behind it and You could feel the Lords presence,” he said in his post.

“This has been a year marked by tragedy, impacting countless lives, including so many in our country music family. So tonight, we’re going to do what families do: come together, pray together, cry together, and sing together, too,” Carrie Underwood said at the opening of the show.
