In Miranda Lambert’s words, love has been a “roller coaster,” and while some might think that a recent break-up with Turnpike Troubadour’s frontman, Evan Felker, would upset the talented Texan, Miranda is taking it all in stride, even casting a bit of perspective on the turn of events.

In a recent interview with Nashville’s “Tennessean,” Miranda announced that she was “happily single,” then said, “Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it.” She continued, “You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts.”

And there are plenty of happy parts happening right now for Miranda. She just wrapped the insanely successful “The Bandwagon Tour” with her great friends Little Big Town. The tour also included Turnpike, Tenille Townes, the Steel Woods, and Pistol Annies.

Speaking of Pistol Annies, the trio of gal pals are also planning to release their third album this fall. “Since our last record, we’ve had two divorces, a marriage, two babies and one on the way,” she explains. “Now we’ve got two husbands, one single and happy, and I just feel like we live such crazy lives. That’s a lot of life to be lived in just five years between three women, and I feel like we’re just telling the story of what all of that is and doing it very honestly.”

If it sounds like this might be an empowering collection of music for the sisterhood of women, you may be right. Miranda adds, “We just want women to understand that we’re all doing the same thing. We’re all just living our lives and having the same struggles and the same joys and the same outlooks.”

No title or release date has been announced for the new album, the first since 2013’s Annie Up, but it will be out before Holler Annie, Angaleena Presley, gives birth in January.
