Miranda Lambert has been saying #MusicisMedicine for a long time and she truly means it. Lambert is currently wrapping up her Highway Vagabond Tour in Canada with Brandy Clark and posted a message to social media explaining why she decided to carry on with the dates after the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas.

“I’ve spent the last few days with a heavy, heavy heart. And I know there are ore days like that to come. But in keeping with the mindset that music is medicine, are are gonna go on stage tonight in Edmonton, AB an dcelebrate family, friends and community with some country music. And remember all the light and joy it can bring. It’s a healer. #prayersforvegas #TomPetty #musicismedicine.”

Before playing “Tin Man,” Lambert shared, “I do one job is that is a singer-songwriter. I get up here and tell stories. I think one of the things we do is, to try and make people feel their feelings. That’s what music is, it’s medicine, right?”
