Miranda Lambert’s Airstream, Wanda The Wanderer, Gets A Makeover

-

Miranda Lambert’s airstream—Wanda the Wanderer—has been a lot of places and seen a lot of faces as she criss-crosses the country with the singing superstar. She even has her own Instagram account. But there comes a time when we all need a little fix me up and pampering. Wanda is getting just that.

The ladies of Junk Gypsy, sisters Amie and Jolie Sikes, who were the original decorators of Wanda, are getting their hands on the silver airstream again to give Wanda a much needed makeover. “We probably should have done this a couple of years ago because it really needs it, but I’m glad we’re here now to save the day,” said Amie in the video.

In a video posted on HGTV’s The Find & The Fix Facebook page, Amie and Jolie get to work on assessing the damage to Wanda and begin finding accessories for the project. After speaking with Miranda, they were tasked with surprising the Texas native by “working their magic.”

“Well, number one I’m sorry and number two bless her heart she’s been rode hard and put up wet,” Miranda said in a phone call with Amie about the wear and tear of Wanda. “[I want it to be] sort of like a rolling dressing room. It’s like our gathering place. We’ve had so many memories in that thing but definitely could use some gypsy makeover. I didn’t really have a vision whenever I sent it to y’all. I was just like, ‘I’m gonna let them do their magic.”

Junk Gypsy was up to the task, taking apart the inside of Wanda and stripping her down to the bare minimum. But we’ll have to wait and see what the finished product look likes. If the original design is any indication of what’s to come, Wanda is in good hands.

The Junk Gypsy ladies will continue their work on Wanda and meet up with Miranda on the road to unveil the final product as Miranda continues touring for the Livin’ Like Hippies Tour with Jon Pardi, through March.

Wanda the Wanderer was even featured on Miranda’s Platinum album cover.
