Wallen was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

The country star took to Twitter to share an apology and explanation of what happened.

“Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air. I went out downtown last night with a few old friends,” he wrote.  “After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected.”

Wallen made a splash in country music in 2016 when he signed to Big Loud Records and released five singles, three of which hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard country charts— “Up Down,” “Whiskey Glasses,” and his most recent hit, “Chasin’ You.” Wallen’s current single “More Than My Hometown” is currently No. 12 on the charts.
