The “Nashville” cast is back and reporting for duty for the sixth season of the drama series.

Season 5, sans Rayna James played by Connie Britton, saw Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) feud with Maddie (Lennon Stella) come to head, Deacon (Chip Esten) in over his head trying to save the Highway 65 label, along with Rayna’s legacy and Scarlett (Clare Bowen) get dragged through the mud in the press.

In May 2016, ABC had cancelled the popular series that ran for four seasons. CMT saved the show by picking it up for Season 5, which kicked off in January 2017. To fans delight, CMT believes the show can continue without main character Rayna James, as the actors returned to set to start filming season 6.

“Since CMT came along, it really feels like a new show,” said Clare Bowen. “We just came from this massive tour. That face to face time with fans reminds you how much you get to affect people. Then you get to come back to the place where it all began.”

“We’re all pretty much ready to get back, see where these characters go, see where these songs go,” said Chip Esten. “We love this place and we love getting to hang with each other.”

We don’t know where season 6 will take us but we can find out by tuning in to “Nashville” when it returns to CMT on Thursdays in January 2018. In the meantime, check out the cast hard at work.
